Students and faculty members of Assisi HSS, Kanjikode, visited Athachi Farms as part of World Environment Day observances, for an interactive learning experience centered on nature, sustainability and environmental stewardship.
The visit was held in the presence of Athachi Group’s senior leadership, including Founder Shrimati Alamelu Subramanian and Managing Director Dr. Vishwanath N Subramanian. Addressing the students, the MD emphasized the importance of sustainability and the ecological significance of the Palakkad Gap, encouraging the young minds to adopt and practice the 3R mantra of waste management as a simple yet powerful step against climate change. CFO Shri Sunder N Subramanian also interacted with the students, sharing his perspective on the farm and underscoring the importance of preserving such green spaces.
The students were taken on a guided farm tour, exploring various spaces including the Navagraha & Nakshatra Vanam, Herbal Garden, Food Forest, Goshala and Nursery, while being introduced to Athachi’s sustainable farming practices and Trust Nature® initiative – a long-term vision rooted in ancient Indian wisdom and modern eco-friendly technologies, aimed at restoring nature’s regenerative power and addressing the pressing challenges of climate change.
Throughout the tour, the students remained curious and engaged, observing sustainable farming practices and understanding how everyday choices can contribute to a greener future. The session concluded with CEO Kalyanakrishnan N Hariharan sharing simple yet effective tips on living in harmony with nature and adopting mindful, low-waste daily habits.
