Kerala is now Home to Luxury Global Brands: Industry Minister P. Rajeeve

Hon’ble Minister for Law, Industry & Coir, Shri P. Rajeeve said that Kerala is now home to Luxury Global Brands, while inaugurating the manufacturing facilities of the new, agroforestry-based luxury skincare brand MoreganicS®, promoted by the Palakkad based conglomerate Athachi Group. The minister said the new Industrial Policy of the government, coupled with many industry-friendly initiatives such as “Meet the Investor” are bringing about a positive business climate to the State.
He said that opportunities for new age industries have increased, and there is room for Kerala brands in the production of natural cosmetics. While the State’s share in the beauty market could be small, interest in nature-based beauty care products across the world is increasing. And Athachi Group’s new venture is a right step in this direction. The minister said mere wishing does not bring new industries to Kerala. He lauded the efforts of various departments that worked together with eager entrepreneurs such as Raju Subramanian, Chairman of the Athachi Group, for making it happen.
The minister also said permission has been granted for 11 Private Industrial Parks in Kerala. A new initiative is being made, and steps are being taken, to start Campus Industrial Parks adjacent to colleges, which will also benefit students.
Presiding over the event, Raju Subramanian, Chairman, said the group will offer the finest quality skin care products to the world, made from the rarest and the purest natural ingredients grown in their own farms at Elapully, Palakkad. He said the group is committed to preserving mother nature with its unique farming and manufacturing techniques called More Than Organics™. Athachi Alamelu Subramanian, the Founder in whose name the group has been started, started the function by lighting the lamp.
Held in the august presence of many dignitaries, those who felicitated the Athachi Group included Palakkad MP Shri V.K. Sreekandan, Malampuzha MLA Shri A. Prabhakaran, Palakkad MLA Shri Shafi Parambil, Kalyan Silks Chairman Shri TS Pattabhiraman, Pudussery Panchayat President Smt N. Praseeda, KSIDC AGM Shri Varghese Malakaran, BEML Advisor Shri Karimpuzha Raman and Dept. of Industries & Commerce General Manager Shri Benedict Williams.
Earlier, Dr. Vishwanath N Subramanian, MD of Athachi gave the welcome address, while the group’s Vice Chairperson Smt. Deepa Subramanian, CEO Shri NH Kalyana Krishnan, and the CIO Shankar N Choodamani spoke of the group’s ethos, journey so far, and vision for the global market.
