  • According to Vamana Purana, Datura emerged from Lord Shiva’s chest when he consumed poison.

Habitat

  • Native to Asia and Mexico, it is found in disturbed areas, along roadsides, old fields, pastures, wastelands, and as a garden weed .

  • Leaves are broadly triangular-ovate, truncate at the base, unequal-sided, entire or irregularly dentate, covered with a fine mealy pubescence or glabrous on both sides.
